The National Lottery, Reaching Communities has told us the are going to fund our project, this is great news for people we work with and support.
Our project, Empowering Our Minority Communities to succeed in Challenging Times, will receive £206,500 over three years towards a budget cost of £311,500. This means that NHES will be able to:
- Develop a range of early interventions for the new and emerging communities in Nottingham.
- Equip children, young people, adults, and families from disadvantaged and marginalised communities, and organisations working with these communities, with the skills and confidence to succeed.
- Enable new arrivals and ethnic minorities to establish themselves and integrate
- into the host communities
- Improve cohesion and integration between different groups.
- Raise aspirations for young people and prevent involvement, or being
- groomed, into criminal lifestyles, help them become respected citizens and make positive life choices.
- Help minority communities access mainstream services, empower, and equip adults are to support family members and gain confidence in becoming economically active.
- Improve education support and health information for new and emerging communities.
- Challenge the stereotypes of inner-city minority communities.
